THE PHONE AT THE LOCAL DIVE. IT’S RINGING
for now—the lights, not yet
on, at dusk—everything is good.
the moon aglow. like xmas.
come autumn, I will go
to the clinic to learn
what I already know.
to an old love to hear
what I already
knew. all along
the walk,
I will spit—again—in the dirt.
where everything is still.
for now everythign is good.
nothing yet is true.
