The cicadas sing themselves to death, starving above the trees, high price of clamor, some crepuscular proximity to truth. Pomegranates pluck low and easy, a mystified eating. Dark-dark fruit theory: I possess what possessed me, an invertebrate sweetness my pitting hymn, the slough of sunrise, loose sleep.
